StoneRidge Insurance Brokers (SIB) has acquired four Ontario-based insurance brokerages operating under the Marathon Insurance Group: SSY Marathon Insurance Brokers, K.O. Bartholomew & Son, Ron Johnston Insurance and Buckler Insurance Service.
The brokerages, located in Richmond Hill and Orillia, have served personal and commercial clients for over 30 years. They will continue to operate under their existing brands following the acquisition. Founders John and Angie Moulatsiotis will remain in leadership roles during a transition period.

The four brokerages offer a range of personal and commercial insurance products. SIB stated that the deal supports its strategy of expanding through partnerships with entrepreneurial brokerages that maintain strong community ties.
The acquisition strengthens SIB’s presence in key markets in Ontario and adds to its growing national network. The firm has been actively acquiring local brokerages across Canada as part of its long-term strategy to build a platform that combines local service delivery with centralized operational support.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
